# Outgoing Mail Service

As of 2026.1, we have implemented a new outgoing mail client that supports OAuth2 for Microsoft, Gmail, and other providers and sending mail via Microsoft 365 Graph API instead of SMTP.

## New Email Configuration

When running [US-A Customize Settings](https://forum.evoerp.com/t/us-a-customize-settings/1076) to configure user settings, the email tab now has a new **Config 365** button that can be used to configure an account that uses OAuth2 such as Microsoft 365 and Gmail.

## Microsoft 365

Before setting this up in Evo, you will need to first configure your mail provider to allow sending the mail as shown below.

### Microsoft App Configuration

To send mail via Microsoft 365, you need to register an app in the Entra ID configuration for your organization first. Please follow the steps below to create the app registration.

1. Open the Microsoft [Entra admin center](https://entra.microsoft.com).
2. Go to **Identity** \> **Applications** \> **App registrations**.
3. Select **New registration**.
4. Enter a name, for example `EvoERP Email`.
5. For account type, choose **Accounts in this organizational directory only**.
6. Select **Register**.
7. Copy the following two values. We will need them when configuring EvoERP:
  - **Application (client) ID**
  - **Directory (tenant) ID**

8. In the app registration, go to **Authentication**.
9. Select **Add a platform**.
10. Choose **Mobile and desktop applications**.
11. Add this redirect URI: `http://localhost`
12. Save the configuration.
13. In the app registration, go back to **Authentication**.
14. Under **Advanced Settings** at the bottom, set **Allow public client flows** to **Yes**.
15. Save the change.
16. In the app registration, go to **API Permissions**.
17. Select **Add a permission**.
18. Select **Microsoft Graph**.
19. Select **Delegated Permissions**.
20. Add this permission: `Mail.Send`
21. Select **Add Permission**. You may need to select **Grand admin consent**.

### Configure EvoERP

Back in [US-A](https://forum.evoerp.com/t/us-a-customize-settings/1076) for each user, bring up the MailClient Configuration by clicking the **Config 365** button in the email tab and follow these steps:

1. Change **Account Type** to **Microsoft 365**.
2. Enter the user’s email address in the **From email** box.
3. Enter the user’s name in the **From name** box.
4. Enter the user’s email addresss again in the **Auth user** box unless they authenticate with a different name/email address. If you’re not sure, use their email address.
5. Enter the client ID from the previous app registration setup in the **Microsoft cliend ID** box.
6. Enter the tenant ID from the previous app registration setup in the **Microsoft tenant** box.
7. Click **Save settings**.
8. Click **Authorize Oauth**. This will open your web browser and have the user authenticate with Microsoft directly. After this process, return to the mail configuration window and confirm that it succeeded.
9. Click **Send test email** and see if the email works. If not, contact us so we can assist.
