Directory and File Cleanup Tips
The following are tips for clearing unnecessary files from the main DBAMFG or EVOERP folder. Keeping the folder clean can help improve performance of Evo-ERP. Before deleting any files, you should make a backup of the system.
- Delete any
.RTXin the root folder. These are no longer used. There are backups ofRTMfiles in theRTMsubfolder. - Delete any files named
TAS#.TMPwhere#is any number. - If you have any PDFs other than
ACCTUG.PDFandMFGUG.PDFyou can delete or move them to another location. - The only
.TXTfiles that should be present are:BKMENUSU.TXTBKMENUST.TXTBKMENUSTC.TXTEVOPRGNAMES.TXTSECLOG.TXT(if this file is getting large, you can delete it and it will be recreated)
Any other.TXTfiles can be moved or deleted.
- Any
.CSV,.XLS,.XLSX,.DOC, and.DOCXcan be moved or deleted. - Only the following
.Bfiles should be present in the root folder:FILE*.B(there are 10 of these)ERRMSG.BUSERS.BUSERS2.BUSERSD.BWBTRVMEMO.BISDRILLM.B
If any other.Bfiles are present in the root folder instead of theDEFAULTsubfolder, go to UT-D and do a lookup to see where the system is actually looking for the file. If it is looking in the root folder, copy the file to theDEFAULTsubfolder, then in UT-D redirect the Data Dictionary pointer to theDEFAULT\path, then make some change to the file in the system to verify the modified date changes on the one in theDEFAULTsubfolder instead of the root folder. At this point you can remove the copy in the root folder. If UT-D is already pointing to theDEFAULT\path, then the file can be deleted from the root folder.
