TAS-M RTM Editor

TAS-M RTM Editor

Purpose of Program

Use this program to modify the RTM files which define the form and report layouts for all program output. Logos can be added to forms, boilerplate text added, fields added or removed and layout rearranged to load better into Excel.

General Program Operation

Determine the name of the RTM you want to edit by running the program in question and making a note of the name of the form when the screen pops up. Once you know the form name launch the editor and then click File - Open RTM and select the form. Most forms have a main report and then subreports within it. For example the invoice or acknowledgment forms have the main report that contains the top header and total information and then subreports for line items, notes, lot and serial numbers and any other additional information. You can access the subreports by clicking the tabs on the bottom of the screen.

The top tool bar has the icons for adding objects to a form. The left side are static objects such as text or a logo. The right side are objects from the database dich as data fields or bar coded information.

When an object is selected the outline will show black boxes. You can hold Shift and select multiple objects to move them by dragging with the mouse or using the nudge buttons on the toolbar.

To add a text object click the A icon on the left top toolbar and then click approximately where you want the text on the form. On the upper right on the toolbar will be a box containing text such as Label12. Edit that text to contain what you want. For multiple lines each line needs to be treated as a separate object.

To add an image or logo object click the Picture icon on the left top toolbar and then click approximately where you want the image on the form. Stretch the box to match the approximate shape and size of the image. Right click inside the box and click Picture and then browse for the image. Use an image file that is the approximate size and shape as the box. Select Stretch and Maintain Aspect Ratio to control the shape and size.

To add a Database object click the DBText icon on the right top toolbar and then click approximately where you want the text on the form. The name of the actual data field is in the DataField cell on the Properties pane on the left side of the screen.

To remove an object you can select and delete or, itf you might want it back in the future, uncheck the Visivle property on the Properties pane on the left side of the screen.
